Brighton's World Cup hero Alexis Mac Allister will get an extended vacation.

The Argentine star was outstanding in Qatar for his country, as they lifted the trophy after beating France in the final on penalties.

Mac Allister started nearly every game for the Albiceleste on route to the trophy, and will get a break from club action, per The Athletic.

While the Premier League resumes on Boxing Day, Mac Allister will not come back to Brighton until after New Year's.

Brighton acknowledge that he needs time to process and celebrate his achievement.

Bringing him back too soon may not only be problematic from a fitness standpoint, but also for his mental health.
