For the draw with Burnley, Potter believes the contribution made by versatile March was a hint of what he should be offering on a more regular basis.

He said: When he has too much time to think, I'm not sure it's the best for him. We spoke about that.

I think he's got talent, he's a good player, he has got quality.

He just needs to play with a bit of freedom.

If you look at the last two or three games, he has played left wing-back, he has played right wing-back and he has played pretty much as an extra midfield player, as a ten.

That tells you we think he is a football player and that he can play in a lot of positions.

The key thing for him is he needs to contribute in the final third, the attacking third, more than he has because he has got the quality to do that.

Obviously it was nice for him to do that (on Saturday) and give support for Neal.

But I think there is more to come from Solly."

Westwood was shown a yellow card by referee Michael Oliver for the tackle that left Maupay with a cut head.

It emerged after the match that Oliver had consulted the VAR team after booking Westwood.

Asked by talkSPORT afterwards if he thought it was a red card offence, he said: "I didn't see the replay but if I only look at my face, I would say yes.

"But we have VAR and the referees can check the decision they make. If they say yellow, we can't really say much."

Hendrick became just the fourth Burnley player to make 100 Premier League appearances when he came off the bench at the Amex Stadium.

And after joining Ashley Barnes, Ben Mee and Sam Vokes in the exclusive club the midfielder struck with a magnificent injury-time leveler to earn the Clarets an unlikely-looking point from a 1-1 draw.

I'm delighted to have made 100 appearances in the Premier League," said Hendrick, who joined the Clarets from Derby County three years ago.

It's a great thing and something I've wanted to do since I was a kid. But the main thing was to get on and help the lads get a point.

I didn't know it was into stoppage time. I was just trying to get onto the ball. I linked up with Dwight and just carried on to get into the box.

Vyds set the ball up nicely and I was able to come onto it and strike it first time.

I was happy with it. I do it in training enough and it's all about bringing it onto the pitch and thankfully help the team get a point today."

Neal Maupay's second goal of the campaign put Albion in front against the Clarets, but Jeff Hendrick's long-range effort levelled the contest in the first minute of stoppage time to momentarily silence the Amex.

All credit to Jeff because he's a fantastic pro. The margins are tight and he's a bit unlucky not to be playing at the moment," said Dyche.

The players probably think the team picks itself, but I told them it doesn't, and Jeff has certainly knocked on the door today.

He deserves that and over the season he will play his part, for sure.

We all know it's a squad game. All three substitutes came on and affected the game, and what a great mentality again.

We've done that so many times and that's because of the joint mentality of the whole group.

We keep playing for every breath and that' a powerful thing that, over a season, pays you back. It can't be under-estimated and It's done that today with a valuable point on the road."

Neal Maupay's second goal of the campaign put Albion in front against the Clarets, but Jeff Hendrick's long-range effort levelled the contest in the first minute of stoppage time to momentarily silence the Amex.

Maupay said, It was a good feeling [to score], but at the end we drew and didn't get the win, so I'm disappointed.

Before the game we knew they would fight until the end, play long balls into the box and fight for the second balls.

You've got to be switched on for 90 minutes, but we made a mistake and they scored. But this is the Premier League and everyone has quality, so you've got to fight until the end if you want to get a win.

"I felt that we were the better team, so it's a frustrating feeling for us."

Potter said, Apart from the first 25 minutes, when Burnley were the better team, we were the team most likely [to win the game]. So of course it's a sore one conceding so late.

It was a good bit of play from them in fairness, but they scored from their only shot on target sometimes that happens.

"We put so much into the game. We're disappointed to come away with only one point, but in terms of the overall performance, again, it was very promising."

The young duo started the development squad's 2-1 win over Brighton in Premier League 2.

After the game, our Academy graduates provided an update on the latest in their comeback from Achilles (Hudson-Odoi) and ankle (James) injuries.

"I felt great," reported Hudson-Odoi. "It's good to be back at the Bridge and to play in front of a good crowd because it was a decent turnout.

"I don't feel any pain at the moment, no problems when I run with the ball so everything is good. My whole body feels good and now it's about getting more match fitness, which comes from playing in games like this."

James revealed he had recently suffered a frustrating obstacle in his own comeback but was remaining focused on improving every day.

"It was getting better and then I had a little setback so I had to stay strong and keep moving forward to get back out on the pitch as soon as I could," he said.

"It was always the plan [to play 45 minutes] because obviously I've been out for a long time so I'm just getting back into the swing of things and we'll take things from here."

Both featured in the win over Brighton.

Hudson-Odoi, 18, had been sidelined since April after rupturing his Achilles in the Europa League semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt and was expected to be out for around six months.

The England international looked sharp on his first appearance, playing for an hour before being replaced by Faustino Anjorin.

It was also a successful night for 19-year-old full-back James, who was making his first appearance since suffering a serious ankle injury at the Under-20 World Cup with England in the summer.

James managed to get through 45 minutes before being replaced by Thierno Ballo suggesting he too could be ready for first-team action.

Webster reveals that he was keen to sign for Potter after playing against his Swansea side last season when he was still at Bristol City.

He told the Mirror: I played against Swansea and his team last year, I was playing in a good footballing team but Swansea were another level, they played a lot of football and I remember thinking: 'I'd love to play like that one day.'

It's been perfect for me. He's very calm. He knows how he wants to play, has his own ideas, he's very relaxed, but the lads really like him and he's been really good. He's been great for me, his style suits my game.

As soon as you know a Premier League club wants you, you want to take that chance. Every player wants to play in the Premier League. I'm just grateful that Brighton showed faith in me, brought me to the club and hopefully I can repay them."
