Brighton defender Veltman: We will bounce back from Brentford

Brighton defender Joel Veltman insists they will bounce back from last night's defeat to Brentford.

Ivan Toney's double condemned us to back-to-back defeats for the first time since March with the Dutchman's contact with Toney leading to the decisive second goal in a 2-0 defeat.

But Veltman has no concerns going forward, with Albion hoping to return to winning ways at the Amex on Tuesday against Nottingham Forest.

He told the club's website, “There is not too much wrong with us. We had a great result against Liverpool and we deserved a point against Tottenham and we were a bit unlucky on Friday, so there are no concerns going forward and we have a chance quickly against Nottingham Forest to get a result.

“We didn't play badly even though we lost. We had some good chances but their keeper had an amazing day so sometimes you have to accept that. They scored twice, that was the difference.

“We knew going there that it was going to be a bit of a fight rather than a 'nice' football game.

“We knew they would press but I thought our fighting spirit was there, we fought well but we could have done better with the second balls. I thought a draw would have been a fair result."
