Aston Villa are eyeing Rennes ace Jeremy Doku.

Villa have identified Doku as the alternative to Bayer Leverkusen star Moussa Diaby.

Villa are trying to sign Diaby, 22, but they're facing a lot of competition for his signature.

The winger is a target for, among others, Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr and Italian champions Napoli.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports Aston Villa is showing interest in Doku. The 21-year-old is an alternative to Diaby - who remains the English club's first choice.
