Valencia attempt to whisk Eto'o away from Everton

Valencia are keen to tempt Everton striker Samuel Eto'o back to Spain.

Los Che owner Peter Lim is ready to bankroll a deal to bring the former Barcelona star back to the Primera Division, says The Sun.

Eto'o joined Everton in the summer on a free transfer from Chelsea, signing a 12-month deal.

Amid Valencia's interest, Everton boss Roberto Martinez has made it clear he wants Eto'o to stay.

"It's just natural he will get another year," said Martinez. "The option for a second year is based on number of starts, so it will come automatically. All I want is for him to enjoy his football and convey the winning mentality he has to the rest of the team."
