Real Madrid coach Zidane confronted Florentino after Spurs draw: I told you!

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane held crunch talks with president Florentino Perez immediately after their 1-1 draw with Tottenham.

The pair spoke face-to-face after the Champions League tie, with Zidane making it clear his frustration over his defensive options.

Don Balon says Zidane reminded Perez he'd requested an experienced centre-half signing over the summer, which the president ignored.

Against Spurs, both Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane turned in error-ridden performances, with Nacho on the bench and Jesus Vallejo in the stands.

Zidane suggested Manchester City defender Nicolas Otamendi or Leonardo Bonucci, now with AC Milan, as signings - but both options were turned down by Perez.

The Frenchman feels they're now paying for the lack of a genuine replacement for Pepe, now with Besiktas.
