Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur has revealed how close he came to signing for Leicester City.
McArthur joined Palace on deadline day from Wigan Athletic.
"It was a chaotic couple of weeks," said the Scotland international, who made his debut in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Burnley.
"A deal was agreed for me and it went as far as the clubs trying to work out the terms of the payment. But they never came to an agreement.
"I said a few goodbyes at Wigan but I knew there was a chance it would not go through. Neil Warnock came in for me, which I was delighted with, and that is all behind me. Neil is obviously a fan if they are prepared to spend that amount of money on me. Hopefully, I can go on and do well for him. I will bring a bit of energy to the side, and I will give 100 per cent. Hopefully, that is good enough."
