Man Utd striker, Bayern Munich dazzler, Chelsea defender among names in Holland squad

Holland boss Louis van Gaal has named a 30-man provisional squad ahead of next month's FIFA World Cup.

The Oranje manager has announced a preliminary roster with few surprises apart from the omission of Paris Saint-Germain defender Gregory van der Wiel who played in the 2010 final loss to Spain in South Africa.

Usual suspects Robin van Persie (Manchester United), Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich), Wesley Sneijder (Galatasaray) and Rafael van der Vaart (Hamburg) have been named while Chelsea's Vitesse Arnhem loanee Patrick van Aanholt has gained a call up.

In the goalkeeping position, Newcastle United's Tim Krul and Swansea City's Michel Vorm have been named but Fulham's Maarten Stekelenburg has missed out.

van Gaal will trim his squad to 23 players by June 2 ahead of Holland's opening World Cup fixture against Spain on June 13.
