Robert Lewandowski is delighted with his decision to sign for Barcelona.

The Poland striker has been a revelation since joining this summer from Bayern Munich.

Lewandowski, interviewed by Kanal Sportowy, revealed: "Real Madrid had been interested in me on several occasions, but when the Barcelona called me I didn't think twice. I knew the club wasn't in the best moment, but I always thought about the future.

"Barcelona will be among the greats again. We are improving every week, in every game we see the difference. We're on the right path."

The Pole then spoke about Xavi: "The preseason with him was very intense, I expected it to be softer. It was even harder than the preseason with Bayern. In Spain, fans appreciate the technical details more than in Germany, yes. I have fun. I've always wanted to play in La Liga and live in Spain. Now I feel satisfied.

"Gavi, Pedri, Ansu or Balde impressed me with how mature they are at their age. I'm learning Spanish and gradually I'm understanding. It helped me a lot that English is understood in the locker room."
