Klopp '100% confident' about Liverpool team selection

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was in his typical tetchy mood as he spoke with reporters and the club's website after the Reds' 0-0 draw at home against West Bromwich Albion.

The Merseyside club were hoping to build on some good performances in all competitions, but were held to a scoreless draw by Albion. It was a surprising result, given Liverpool's ability to score goals for fun in most games.

It is typically the defence that lets down the Reds. But they kept a clean sheet, and were still unable to win the game. It was bound to frustrate manager Klopp, and that was evident from his post-match comments.

"That's not my job to talk about [on whether his team selection worked] – I made the decision already and if we don't win, for me it's like it didn't work, but that happens quite a lot in the life of a manager," he said.

"If I would now be too frustrated about that, it would not make sense too much. I was 100 per cent convinced about this line-up like I was 100 per cent convinced about the last line-up."

Aside from resting goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, Klopp opted for Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino in attack, with Philippe Coutinho starting in a three man midfield with Emre Can and Georginio Wijnaldum.
