Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij says new contract talks are underway.

The Dutchman was asked for an update after last night's 0-0 draw with Sampdoria.

Asked about the prospect of a new deal, the Dutchman acknowledged that “We're talking about it."

“We're on great terms, which is very important," he added.

Asked whether he thinks that the Nerazzurri are now officially out of the Serie A title race, de Vrij added, “It's very difficult for us, Napoli are flying while we can't seem to win some matches like this evening's.

“We created chances, but we didn't we managed to score.

“We had many decent moves where we just missed the final ball. It's a shame, two points dropped."
