Ex-Crystal Palace midfielder Fenwick launching coaching career in Denmark: Solskjaer an inspiration

Former Crystal Palace and Cardiff City midfielder Bayan Fenwick is launching his coaching career in Denmark.

Fenwick, 28, currently plays for AB Tårnby in Denmark.

He told Bold.dk: "My goal is to become a soccer coach. I've always wanted to. When I was 19-20 I coached the U13 team at Crystal Palace and I got my English license when I was under 20. Now I'm trying to get my B license and I've been training in Aabybro.

"I trust my knowledge regarding football and how I look at the game. I understand the game and I read and watch a lot of football. I have read about Guardiola and I have read Pocchetino's and Ancelotti's book, so it is a really big passion for me to become a coach as soon as possible."

Fenwick says he draws some inspiration from Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who he worked with at Cardiff.

He continued: "Instead of being a coach for a team, he was very individual in terms of training each individual player in his own way, and I really liked that. He looked at people's strengths more than people's weaknesses and tried to make people's strengths even better.

"Many of my coaching ideals come from the way he had relationships with the players. The little technicalities that he gave me made me a much better player and he made me even better at my strengths rather than improving my weaknesses."
