FC Twente have snapped up Everton midfielder Nathan Markelo.
The winger, 21, joins Twente on a season-long loan.
Markelo said, "I recently renewed my contract with Everton, but there is not yet a direct view of a place in the first team.
"The chance of this is greater at FC Twente and that is why it is good for me to play for FC Twente this year. I know the club well, because Jahnoah, my younger brother plays at Twente in the academy.
"That is why it is extra fun to play here this season."
Technical director Jan Streuer added: "Nathangelo is a talented right-footed defender who has gone through all representative youth teams of Oranje and is seen at Everton as a very promising player.
"It is not for nothing that the English club recently extended his contract. He will have plenty of opportunities for playing minutes in the first team this season, it is up to him to find a starting spot."
