Augsburg sports director Stefan Reuter admits they considered recalling Southampton fullback Kevin Danso last month.

Danso was interesting RB Leipzig and FC Koln.

Reuter said, “We were concerned with that on the last day of the transfer window, but we didn't do it. We were in a lot of exchanges, but there was no solution."

He also admitted a move to FC Koln was a non-starter, explaining: "Something extraordinary whould have to happen for us to strengthen a direct competitor in this situation."

Reuter also admitted they wanted to loan Reece Oxford, the former West Ham defender.

"If we had a loan nearby that would have made sense for his development, we would have been willing to talk. But it didn't get that far," said Reuter.
