Young admits battle to keep hold of Villa place

Luke Young admits it's a battle to keep your place in Aston Villa's first team.

While he is delighted to get a run in the team, Young admits the tussle for places - particularly in defence - is keeping everyone on their toes.

He told AVTV: "It's been great for me. When you get back into the side, the last thing you want is to come in for one game, out for one game and back in.

"I've managed to get five games on the bounce now and I feel like I am back in and up to pace now, and ready to up my performances.

"I've gone into the game against Hull City knowing James Collins is around the corner from being fit.

"Obviously the back four that has played most of the season is Carlos (Cuellar) at right back and the two in the middle, who have done brilliantly - Dunny (Richard Dunne) and Ginge (James Collins).

"He (Collins) will be training next week so it is another place up for grabs and everyone has got to keep on their toes."
