Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio has hailed the quality of Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne.
City landed Belgian international De Bruyne in the summer, much to the delight of their supporters but from Wolfsburg's perspective, the loss of the midfielder is a huge blow.
De Bruyne was the undoubted star for Wolfsburg over the last few years and upon his move to City, former teammate Benaglio has hailed the 24-year-old as an extraordinary talent.
The Swiss international told Kicker: "Of course, it is a shame that Kevin (and Ivan Perisic) have left the club. Kevin is simply an extraordinary player. When you are being honest, you can understand someone when such an offer comes in.
"Kevin has always been honest. He never said that he would 100 per cent certain stay at Wolfsburg, only to backtrack the day after. One can perfectly understand his move. But I think we have compensated for his exit pretty well with the arrival of Julian Draxler and Dante."
