Wigan not bothered by playing against the odds - Caldwell

Wigan Athletic captain Gary Caldwell says the team is not bothered at going into most matches as underdogs.

The Latics, currently sitting second bottom on the Premier League table, take on Liverpool at Anfield tomorrow and Caldwell knows they will not be favoured to come away with anything but he insists it's not a problem.

"We've got a tough run of fixtures coming up which people will assume that Wigan Athletic can't possibly take points from," Caldwell told Latics Player ahead of the Reds match plus upcoming fixtures with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.

"I think that's a good thing because we certainly believe we can win these games and to silence the doubters will give us a real platform to build on.

"Going to Anfield is always a difficult test, but if we play like we did last weekend (in the 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion) and maybe get a little bit of luck then I'm sure we can go there and win.

"We'll have to be 100% though at the same time because they've got a lot of quality, especially in the final third.

"We've not got any fear about facing opponents and we're playing attacking football which can only be a positive thing going into the final games of the season."
