West Ham fullback Arthur Masuaku is facing a six match ban after being sent off for spitting in their FA Cup defeat to Wigan Athletic.
The London Evening Standard says the Football Association confirmed that a lengthy ban is likely if the incident involving the 24-year-old left-back and Wigan's Nick Powell is included in referee Chris Kavanagh's match report, with the 'Player Essentials' handbook outlining a six-match lay-off.
Masuaku was shown a straight red card early in the second half for the off-the-ball incident, with television replays appearing to show the Frenchman spitting in Powell's direction.
Jonny Evans and Papiss Cisse were both suspended in a game between Newcastle and Manchester United in 2015.
