West Ham boss David Moyes says Erik ten Hag deserves time at Manchester United.

Moyes faces his former club in the early kickoff tomorrow.

He said, "When it was Sir Alex's teams it was incredibly difficult to win any games and the games at Old Trafford were amazing with the crowds and atmospheres.

"I'm hoping we can give them as good a game as we did last year, and if we can win it would keep us in a really strong league position. We'll keep trying to do that.

"I don't want to make too much comment about Manchester United, but I hope they give the manager time to get everything in place that he wants to do, and give him every opportunity to be successful.

"It's a great football club, with great players and great traditions. There are so many good things about it, and obviously the supporters there will be looking for something a little bit more.

"I'll obviously expect them to give you a really tough game. I can't speak about Manchester United, all I can say is they've got really good players and I hope we don't catch them on a good day.

"It says a lot about where we are at the moment and what we're doing that you're talking about West Ham as direct rivals to Manchester United.

"We're fighting hard to stick with the top teams if we can. If we win it could get us into the top six or seven at the weekend, we're just outside at the moment.

"We want to keep that going, we want to keep pushing hard in the league and we want to try to get European football for a fourth year in a row if possible. Manchester United at home, we have to try and use our home form to get something out of the game."
