Superdeporte says Tottenham also made contact with Gomes' camp in recent days.
While West Ham have displayed more concrete interest, Spurs intermediaries have made it clear to Gomes he is wanted by manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The midfielder is tied to Barca until 2021.
