West Ham United are closing on a deal for Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez.

It's emerged the Mexico international is keen to see the move happen.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is reporting: "West Ham have now reached an agreement on personal terms with Ajax midfielder Édson Álvarez.

"Up to West Ham to discuss the deal with Ajax as negotiations will follow over the weekend.

"Deal depends on clubs, Édson said yes."
