West Brom striker Salomon Rondon remains hopeful of a return to Newcastle United.
The Mirror says the Venezuelan has been linked to Marseille, Wolves and West Ham United of late but he has told friends he wants to join the Magpies on a permanent basis.
Rondon is unlikely to remain at West Brom given their failure to gain promotion to the Premier League, and his form in the top flight has certainly brought him admirers.
The Newcastle United board were initially reluctant to sign Rondon on a permanent deal last summer, in the end sanctioning a loan deal which saw Dwight Gayle go to the Baggies, says the Evening Chronicle.
Even despite reaching double figures last campaign, there once again appears to be a hesitation in signing the striker given his age.
