West Bromwich Albion face competition to sign Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden.
The Baggies are keen on bringing in the 23-year-old this month to strengthen their bid for immediate promotion back to the Premier League, according to The Telegraph's John Percy.
However, Percy added that Albion were getting "little encouragement" from Newcastle at this moment in time.
Hayden has made just eight appearances in the Premier League this season.
But given Newcastle's precarious position on the table, manager Rafa Benitez would be reluctant to let Hayden leave without finding a suitable replacement.
