West Bromwich Albion have emerged as shock contenders to sign Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.
Ivanovic is believed to have already played his final game for Chelsea in the FA Cup 4th round clash against Brentford on the weekend and there have been widespread reports that the Serbian would be making a move to Russia with Zenit St. Petersburg.
In a surprise admission from Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth though, it can be revealed that Albion are also interested in signing Ivanovic and Baggies boss Tony Pulis was present at Stamford Bridge on the weekend to facilitate a deal for the 32-year-old.
Sheth said: "There were reports that (Brentford striker Scott) Hogan was interesting West Brom. Manager Tony Pulis was at Stamford Bridge yesterday, it turns out they're interested in Branislav Ivanovic.
"The Serb scored in Chelsea's win and we're told he's in advanced negotiations with Zenit St Petersburg. It's thought Chelsea will allow Ivanovic to move on a free transfer."
It is understood that Ivanovic will make his decision on Monday.
