West Brom boss Allardyce on Man Utd draw: We had enough chances to win

Sam Allardyce thinks West Bromwich Albion were unlucky not to beat Manchester United on Sunday.

The clash at the Hawthorns ended 1-1, with Bruno Fernandes cancelling out Mbaye Diagne's early opener.

Diagne had a number of clear chances in the second-half, and Allardyce lamented his wastefulness.

"We had enough chances to make it three points," said the Baggies boss. "The sad thing is for me is Mbaye Diagne could have had a hat-trick. That would have been a great thing for him.

"It was a super goal. He didn't look the favourite. He missed easier chances than that today. We've got somebody in the box who can score us goals.

"I'm pleased with the overall performance and tactics of the team. They didn't let their heads down when United scored with their only shot on target in the first half.

"In the last minute we needed our goalie to make sure we didn't lose. We wouldn't have deserved to lose.

"When you get those opportunities [to attack] you have to maximise them. We did that but the chances we had, we didn't finish more than one."
