The 19-year-old has been linked with a January transfer, with Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, West Bromwich Albion and Leeds United.

"Playing in the Premier League is obviously still a dream," McCallum told KentOnline .

"If I went all the way it'd be so big for me because I'm one of those millions of kids who have wanted it.

"But at the moment I'm focusing on trying to get the starting position at Coventry and then see where it goes from there."

He added: "I'm still settling in, but I'm more comfortable now.

"I'm more comfortable in the accommodation I'm in because I'm staying with [teammate] Morgan Williams, and we're like brothers.

"It's helping me with what I'm doing on the training ground and the pitch."

The former Arsenal youngster, who Albion picked up on a season-long loan from Benfica's B-team, is yet to feature in Slaven Bilic's first-team but he has been scoring goals in the U23s side with regularity, says Birmingham Live.

Another loanee in Grady Diangana has been performing at a particularly high level in recent weeks. They're performances that have led to suggestions that parent club West Ham United may consider their options in the January transfer window.

As is customary between sides in England, the Premier League Irons have the right to recall Diangana in January, understood to be at any time over a two-week period in January.

Albion lost Harvey Barnes back to Leicester City in similar circumstances last season.

The ex-West Brom and Stoke City striker was due to appear at Willesden Magistrates' Court in north west London this morning to answer the charge, but didn't turn up, reports the Mirror.

Former England Under-21 international Berahino, 26, who now plays for Belgian First Division club Zulte Waregem, was slapped with the five-figure fine after being convicted of drink driving for a second time earlier this year.

Berahino, who was born in Burundi but received political asylum in Birmingham while still a child, was banned from driving for 30 months and ordered to fork out a total sum of 75,870 in fines and court costs.

He was given until September 7 to pay up.

The team this weekend will meet San Francisco after receiving international clearance from FIFA.

Sport says Barcelona confirmed the signing of Barry from West Brom in July but the teenager has been forced to wait for his first competitive appearance.

England youth international Barry, 16, featured in preseason, scoring several goals, but has been unable to play in any of the side's five league games or either of the two UEFA Youth League fixtures to date.

The reason for the delay has been a bureaucratic issue with Barca forced to wait for world football's governing body to clear the transfer. A number of aspects of the deal needed to be checked, including the player's education program at his new club.

Pulis was in charge of the Baggies when Gnabry joined on loan from Arsenal in 2015, with the German making just three appearances before being recalled in January.

The 24-year-old stole the show on Tuesday when he scored four goals in Bayern Munich's 7-2 win over Tottenham.

"I'm amazed, we had him at West Brom, we took him on loan and we couldn't ever get him fit - I think we even took him off in an Under 21's game," Pulis told Sky Sports.

"He went back to Arsenal, they sold him on, he was a good kid, nice kid, didn't mind him at all and he's really fulfilled his potential.

"You could knock me over with a feather having worked with him at West Brom and seen him there to what he's done is absolutely amazing.

"When people show what they can really do and they really knuckle down and become so good as he's done, it's absolutely fantastic."

A goal from Ezgjan Alioski was enough to ensure that Leeds got the win and a crucial three points.

West Brom had come into the game unbeaten since the start of the league season.

But their run was ended by Marcelo Bielsa's side last night.

West Brom are only a point behind Leeds in the table, in what promises to be a fantastic battle for automatic promotion.

And they will take heart from the way they made Leeds work for this result.

The former West Brom and Rangers man amassed 203 Premier League appearances and earned 80 caps for his country, scoring in Northern Ireland's first-ever win at the European Championship finals in 2016.

That goal was Northern Ireland's first at a major tournament in 30 years and saw McAuley become the second-oldest scorer at the Euros, before netting an unfortunate own goal in the round-of-16 defeat to Wales.

"A lot of people have been asking me what my plans are since the summer so I thought it was time to publicly state I've decided to retire from playing," he said.

"I knew last season was going to be my 23rd and final year as a player and I know I'm hanging up my boots for the final time at the right time.

"From the second I first kicked a ball, it was always about the love of the game and a desire to win followed.

"To play 80 times for my country and score nine goals, I enjoyed every second I wore the Northern Ireland shirt and will be forever thankful for the support I was given.

"Now I'm looking to spending time with my wife Fran, my son Bobby and daughter Alexis, and enjoying some of the things I've missed out on down the years."

The Express & Star says West Brom are closing in on the signing of Shotton following Bury's expulsion from the EFL.

The 18-year-old is set to sign a two-year deal at The Hawthorns with Bury's future still in the air following the sad news of their exit from league football.

Shotton featured for the Baggies in the reserve game against Mansfield last week. It has been reported Watford and Leeds had bids rejected for him while he was at Bury.

The promising youngster made four first-team appearances during Bury's promotion campaign last season.

Harrison joined over the summer following a long and successful stint in the same position at West Bromwich Albion, where he helped them to become one of the best in England for developing young stars.

Smith said: "I was involved in the recruitment process for Mark, along with Jesus Garcia Pitarch, Jeremy Oliver and Christian Purslow.

"We wanted the best Academy Head that could make ours the most progressive in the area.

"Mark's got a good track record of doing that. I've been impressed by his work and have seen it close up during my time with both Walsall and Aston Villa.

"I was fortunate enough to pick up a few of the West Bromwich Albion players from his era in Romaine Sawyers and Paul Downing.

"They knew how to produce players there. Now, I think Mark will take over here and push us forward.

"We want to be the best Academy in the area, and even the country. That's got to be the aim and the ambition.

"We also have Richard Beale in now with the U18s another established coach who is very good at his job. I've known him for a long time.

"And we have George Boateng, who understands the club and knows what's required. He was a top professional who played a lot of games at the highest level."
