Wage demands stalling Everton pursuit of Stoke winger Arnautovic

Everton continue to be heavily linked with Marko Arnautovic despite his reported wage demands of £80,000 a week.

The Daily Mail reports that the Stoke City winger is after a new and improved deal at the Britannia Stadium but is yet to come to an agreement with Potters chiefs over his salary.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is keen to lure the Austria international to Goodison Park but the money he will be asking for is stalling any proposed move to Merseyside.

Arnautovic, 27, has a year remaining on his Stoke contract and is believed to want his wages increased but his demands could see him price himself out of a transfer to Everton.

Koeman is keen to bring in a quality attacker to partner Romelu Lukaku as Arouna Kone and Oumar Niasse have failed to hit their straps.

It is understood that Stoke would want a transfer fee of around £12.5million for the former Werder Bremen forward.
