Gazzaniga is currently on-loan this season in Spain with Girona.

And his form has brought him to the attention of Villarreal, which see him as competition for Pepe Reina.

While happy with the veteran, Villarreal will offer Gazzaniga, 31, their No1 place as they seek a long-term solution for Geromino Rulli's departure for Ajax last year.

Former Tottenham keeper Gazzaniga's deal with the Cottagers is due to expire next month and Villarreal are in contact about keeping him in LaLiga next season.
