Villa hero Ken McNaught: Too much asked of Baker, Clark

Aston Villa hero Ken McNaught feels too much was asked last season of their young defenders.

McNaught believes Nathan Baker and Ciaran Clark will benefit from being taken out of the firing line now that Villa have more central defensive cover.

"They've been found wanting too many times," McNaught told the Birmingham Mail. "When they first came into the team they were being hailed as super-kids, but it has been hard for them.

"All young players go through tough times, but these lads have been forced to play even when they could have done with being taken out of the team."
