Villa boss Emery hails home support after victory against West Ham: We feel something special

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery hailed the home support for Sunday's 4-1 rout of West Ham.

Douglas Luiz (2), Ollie Watkins and Leon Bailey scored the goals for the hosts.

Emery later said: "I'm very proud of our work with our supporters and fans because we are always playing here in Villa Park, feeling something special with them.

“We are connecting with them and trying to transmit to them everything we can on the pitch, and they are responding very well. They are helping us, transmitting energy.

“I remind myself about the match against Crystal Palace when we were losing and they (the fans) were very important. Today it was the same.

“From the first minute to the 90th-minute, everyone was very involved in helping us, supporting us. I'm very happy for the supporters."

He added: "When they scored one goal and are trying to take the result off us, our reaction was fantastic and we scored the third goal. Then we scored a fourth with Leon Bailey and it was fantastic because we're building this energy here with our fans.

“When we are winning like that, it's fantastic."
