Van Himst: In a year Man City winger Doku will be among best in the world

Manchester City starlet Jeremy Doku has been tipped to have a bright future in the game.

The Belgian winger, who joined City this summer, can develop into one of the world's best footballers.

That is the view of Belgian legend Paul Van Himst, who starred for Anderlecht and managed the club in the 1980s.

“I have known him since he was young because he played with my grandson at the under-16 or under-18 level," the 79-year-old told Belgian outlet Voetbal Krant.

“He is terribly fast. What is good for him is that he is an individualist.

“But now that he left for Manchester City, he will learn to play in a team. Because at City, if he plays two games and doesn't give the ball much, the others won't give him the ball either. In a year's time, I think he will be one of the best players in the world. He has so many qualities."
