Tottenham are watching Sporting CP midfielder Martin Ugarte.

O Jogo says the Uruguay international is being scouted by Spurs at the World Cup.

Spurs chiefs were impressed by Ugarte in their Champions League games this season and now scouts are in Qatar to follow his progress.

Ugarte was not an option in the opening match, against South Korea (0-0).

But according to the South American press, he has a strong chance of playing against Portugal, replacing Matías Vecino.
