Tottenham are making a move for Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis. The Daily Mail says the 27-year-old is emerging as a target for Andre Villas-Boas and chairman Daniel Levy.
The Portuguese manager wants to bolster his strikeforce ahead of tomorrow's transfer deadline but has so far fired blanks with his original targets.
Leandro Damiao, Alvaro Negredo and Gary Hooper are all on Tottenham's hitlist but those deals have been harder to seal than expected.
And Gomis, who has 10 caps for Les Bleus, is now a potential candidate in what could prove a busy two days at White Hart Lane.
Whether Lyon would be prepared to sell Gomis this month remains to be seen, particularly with the club neck-and-neck with Carlo Ancelotti's Paris Saint-Germain in the race for the league title
But reports in France have suggested Gomis could be available for as little as £8million given Lyon's financial difficulties.
