Tottenham are prepared to sell Toby Alderweireld to Roma as part of a deal for Nicolo Zaniolo.

The Daily Mail says Mauricio Pochettino is prepared to do business on Alderweireld who has only one year remaining on his contract at Spurs.

The 30-year-old Belgium international defender has a buy-out clause which expires on July 25, two weeks before the end of the transfer window.

Until then, he can leave White Hart Lane for £25million but there has been no solid interest in him since the end of the season.

Zaniolo has been among Pochettino's top targets for weeks and, despite Roma's reluctance to sell the 20-year-old midfielder they could be tempted if bids moved above £40m.
