Tottenham striker Llorente: Real Madrid players went missing; they suffered

Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente was delighted with victory over Real Madrid.

Llorente was a second-half substitute for the 3-1 Champions League win at Wembley.

The Spain international stated at the final whistle: "It was wonderful, it's time to celebrate, they're difficult and you do not beat Madrid every day.

"The whole team has done a great job, congratulations to everyone, we have left everything on the field, we have made Madrid not feel comfortable and we must continue like this, this is the line.

"We have shown that we are prepared to do beautiful things this year."

The former Athletic Bilbao striker continued: "We have taken advantage of our chances in the game, they have suffered enough with our goals, we have come up and they, at times, have been missing in the game thanks to our play."

In the battle for first place, Llorente added: "Two matches remain, Madrid is never dead, I am sure that they will fight for that first place because it is very important to avoid the other top teams."
