Tottenham remain confident of signing Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish, despite the club's ownership shake-up.

The Mirror says Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino wants talented No.10 Grealish to compete with Dele Alli behind Harry Kane in attack.

Villa were saved from the brink when embattled Chinese businessman Xia sold a majority stake to billionaires Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens.

The duo have since backed boss Steve Bruce and want to see Villa back in the Premier League after their near miss in the play-off final.

But there is on-going uncertainty at Villa Park over Grealish as the club are still under pressure from Financial Fair Play rules.

And Spurs will push to strike terms for less than £20m in the coming days.
