Tottenham are launching a stunning move for Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio.

Marca says Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino wants the 22-year-old to strengthen his squad after failing to land any new players in the summer.

Asensio is one of many Real Madrid stars who have struggled this season since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and they reportedly could allow him to leave.

But an initial approach from Spurs has been rejected by the player because "his only goal is to succeed at Real Madrid".

Liverpool are also set to renew their interest in Asensio after apparently missing out in a £160m mega bid in the summer.
