Tottenham fullback Ryan Sessegnon wanted to join Fenerbahce this week, it has been revealed.
Sessegnon was lined up by Fener for a season-long loan deal before Turkey's summer market opened on Wednesday.
Fanatik says an agreement was struck between the two coaches, with Fener boss Vitor Pereira speaking directly with his Spurs counterpart Nuno.
Sessegnon had also agreed to the move.
However, in the end the two clubs couldn't agree on loan terms before the deadline fell.
Sessegnon now remains with Spurs, where he featured in the Europa Conference League qualifiers this summer. He spent last season on-loan with TSG Hoffenheim, having arrived at Tottenham last year from Fulham.
Sessegnon enjoyed a positive campaign in Germany. He managed 29 appearances for TSG Hoffenheim, scoring twice and producing three assists.
The England U21 international has a contract with Tottenham to 2025.
