Tottenham are eyeing departing Barcelona football chief Mateu Alemany.

It was announced today Alemany is leaving Barca on September 2 when the summer market shuts.

Alemany was set to join Aston Villa at the end of last season before performing a U-turn. The Villans eventually turned to Sevilla's Monchi as an alternative.

Mundo Deportivo says he could yet make the move to England with Tottenham.

Spurs are seeking to replace former football director Fabio Paratici and Alemany is now being discussed.
