Tottenham defender Carter-Vickers attracting big Championship interest

Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is attracting Championship interest.

The Daily Mail says Carter-Vickers is wanted by Bournemouth, Swansea City and Luton Town.

The Championship trio are pushing to strengthen their defensive options and versatile USA international Carter-Vickers can play at centre back and right-back.

Luton and Swansea know the 22-year-old particularly well as he has spent time on loan with both previously.

Carter-Vickers has one year left on contract and Tottenham are willing to let him leave on a permanent transfer. He came through the youth ranks at Spurs and made his debut under Mauricio Pochettino.

Though well regarded at Tottenham, his first team opportunities have been sparse, indeed, he has had five temporary moves away since 2017, taking in spells at Sheffield United, Ipswich Town, Swansea, Stoke and Luton last season where he made 16 appearances.

Tottenham are willing to let Carter-Vickers go despite the prospect of another centre-back Juan Foyth heading to Villarreal on loan.
