Tottenham boss Conte frustrated with recurring Dier injury

Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte is frustrated by the injury issues that centre-back Eric Dier is experiencing.

The utility man, who can also play in midfield, has been struggling with a recurring thigh problem this season.

Dier has been dealing with the issue since before the winter break, and manager Conte is not sure if he will be available for their next game against Southampton on Wednesday.

Conte told Sky Sports: "He had the same problems that he had in the past before playing the last game against Chelsea. He had a little muscular problem in his thigh.

"It's not serious but the problem is in the same place as the last time, so for this reason the doctors told me to be patient and not to take risks with him.

"It's a pity because you know the importance of this player to us."
