Tottenham have granted Adam Smith permission to play for Torquay United in their FA Cup tie with Stockport County.

Spurs have given permission for on-loan teenage England Under-19 full-back Smith to play for the Gulls in tomorrow's tie at Edgeley Park.

United boss Paul Buckle confirmed: "It's good news. Adam is free to play for us in the Cup. I think it helps that he likes the club and is enjoying it here."

The 18-year-old has started both league games for the Gulls since arriving at Plainmoor in an initial month-long loan a week ago.
