Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali was named on the bench and did play against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League last night.
Tonali, who could be set for a 10 month ban from football due to betting violations, played in the 1-0 loss in the group stages on Wednesday.
The Magpies signed Tonali from AC Milan in the summer for a mega fee, but may now lose him until next season.
Tonali was named in an investigation by the Italian Prosecutor's Office and Italian Football Federation (FIGC) regarding betting on illegal platforms.
He is said to have admitted to betting on AC Milan games while he played for the Italian giants.
While his bets were always on Milan to win, his behavior is a serious breach of betting rules.
