Tonali eager to meet with Newcastle boss Howe

Newcastle United new boy Sandro Tonali admits he is coming to the club to win trophies.

The Italian signed on a big money contract from AC Milan, where he was seen as one of their brightest young stars.

While Tonali knows it will take time for him to become accustomed to life in Tyneside, he is ready to contribute next season.

"The ambition of every player is to come to a team and win," the 23-year-old said, per Chronicle Live.

"I believe the first thing you should do is never stop and then aim to win.

“This is everyone's goal, to try and win as soon as possible."

"He was one of those people who wanted me," Tonali added of boss Eddie Howe.

"I hope to meet him as a possible and I'm looking to starting this journey together with him.

"Everyone has told me nice thing about him. They have told me about his background, not to mention what this season was like for him. I hope to start the job together very soon."
