Alan Thompson said getting a winning result, no matter how, was absolutely vital when Celtic met St Mirren yesterday.
The Glasgow giants dropped their first match of the season at home to St Johnstone last weekend and then followed up by missing out on Europa League action and Neil Lennon's assistant highlighted the importance of bouncing back to the winners circle following the 2-0 victory in Paisley which came courtesy of a Gary Hooper double.
"It was important that we got three points today, no matter how we got them after the disappointment of Thursday and last Sunday (when they lost to St Johnstone)," he said.
"In the first 20 minutes St Mirren struggled to cope with the way we started the game, the tempo, the energy, the power and the pressing."
