Ten Hag demands Man Utd make Kane priority target

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag wants to bring Harry Kane to Old Trafford and has prioritised the Tottenham striker's signing this summer.

The Manchester Evening News says sources state Ten Hag is intent on signing Tottenham talisman Kane, 29, as he approaches the final year of his contract.

Kane's Spurs future is uncertain again with the club certain to go a 15th successive season without any silverware. Although Tottenham are fourth in the Premier League table Liverpool only trail them by three points and have a game in hand.

Kane had intended to leave Tottenham in 2021 amid firm interest from Manchester City but had three years left to run on his contract at the time and Spurs blocked a move.

Realistically, United are the only Premier League club Kane could join in the summer as they are likely to have qualified for the Champions League and their priority is to sign a high-quality centre forward.

Acquiring Kane would be an onerous task as the Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has repeatedly succeeded in refusing to sell the club's most coveted players to domestic rivals.

Bayern Munich are expected to be in the market for a striker and are another realistic option for Kane should he choose to move abroad.
