Swansea playmaker Britton not giving up on England call

Swansea City midfielder Leon Britton is eyeing an England call.

Everton midfielder Leon Osman made his Three Lions debut at the age of 31 - the third oldest debutant since 1954 - in the 4-2 friendly defeat to Sweden last week.

Britton, who played a big part in Swansea's rise to 10th in the Premier League, is also on a mission to impress England boss Roy Hodgson.

Britton, 30, said: "The manager showed that if you are playing well he will pick you whether you're Leon Osman at 31 or Raheem Sterling at 17.

"It gives everyone hope that it's never too late or never too early.

"I'll never give up, I'll try to do well for Swansea and if something comes from that then I'll be over the moon."
