Robbie Earle has advised Stoke City to sign the likes of Theo Walcott and Daniel Sturridge during the upcoming January transfer window.

The Potters are currently on a rapid downward spiral in the Premier League and will clearly need to strengthen their squad in order to be able to avoid relegation this season.

Ex-Stoke youth productEarle wants his former side to strengthen their attack and has advised the club to sign either Theo Walcott or Daniel Sturridge.

Earle wrote in his column for the Stoke Sentinel: "Theo Walcott hasn't started a league game so far this season and dare I say Daniel Sturridge needs regular action, especially with the World Cup coming up next summer.

"Maybe Stoke wouldn't always win the race but, with their experience and status in the Premier League, they should certainly be in the running for that kind of player."
