Stoke City defender Ryan Shotton is enjoying his time on-loan at Wigan Athletic.

Shotton scored his first goal for almost two years as a right-back in victory over Ipswich, even though he would love to figure in central defence during his six-month loan move from Stoke.

"I've always enjoyed playing centre-back but I'll play wherever the manager wants me to," said Shotton, 24. "Hopefully I'll be able to hold down a place in the centre of defence."
