Stoke City chief Peter Coates is confident that the club can tie down Peter Crouch to a brand new deal at the Bet365 Stadium.

Despite Crouch set to turn 37 in January, he is still producing the goods for City and now Coates has admitted that the club would like to hand the veteran a brand new contract.

Coates said: "Peter knows we value his contribution to the football club, not just on the field, but off it too.

"We hope to be able to sort things out to suit both parties. We are aware of the situation (with his contract). We have a good relationship with him and we would like him to continue his career with us."
